Frequently Asked Questions
What is Chiropractic?
The body has a powerful innate ability to heal itself and maintain homeostasis. This innate function is controlled by the nervous system. The nervous system is made up of the central and peripheral nerves, which relay every movement and sensation from every cell, tissue, and organ in the body back to the brain.
If, along the way, there is dysfunction that interferes with the nervous system’s communication between the brain and the rest of the body, symptoms of dis-ease can appear and the body can no longer function correctly. We call this mechanism a subluxation.
Vertebral subluxations have many varied causes, including physical or mental trauma, environmental or chemical stressors, and even poor posture. Often, it is the small, everyday stresses placed on the spine and nervous system that cause the most frequent subluxations.
Chiropractors focus on reducing these stressors and realigning the spine by correcting spinal subluxations. By restoring proper nervous system communication throughout the body, we help return the body to optimal function and allow it to heal itself naturally.
What Conditions Do You Treat?
Chiropractic care focuses on the assessment and management of musculoskeletal conditions, particularly those involving the spine, joints, and their relationship with the nervous system.
We commonly see patients experiencing:
Back and neck discomfort
Joint and muscle pain
Postural-related issues
Movement restrictions or stiffness
General musculoskeletal discomfort from daily activities or work
Our care also considers how the spine and musculoskeletal system may influence the nervous system, which plays a role in overall body function.
In some cases, we may incorporate cranial and visceral approaches as part of a holistic assessment to support general well-being and body balance.
Our approach emphasises improving mobility, supporting the body’s natural function, and enhancing overall physical well-being through personalised care plans.
Please note that chiropractic care is not intended to diagnose or treat medical diseases, nor to replace medical treatment. If your condition requires medical attention, we will refer you to the appropriate healthcare provider.
Is Chiropractic Safe?
Yes, chiropractic care is widely recognised as a safe and effective form of treatment when performed by a qualified professional. Numerous studies have shown that chiropractic adjustments are generally safe, with a low risk of serious adverse effects.
Chiropractors are trained to assess your condition thoroughly before providing care, ensuring that treatment is appropriate for your specific needs. Techniques are also adapted based on factors such as age, health condition, and comfort level.
In Malaysia, chiropractic care is especially safe when provided by a chiropractor who is registered with the Traditional & Complimentary Medicine Division, Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH). Registered practitioners are required to meet strict education and professional standards, giving you added assurance of quality and safety.
As with any healthcare treatment, some patients may experience mild and temporary soreness after an adjustment, similar to what you might feel after exercise. Serious complications are very rare.
If you have any concerns, your chiropractor will be happy to discuss them and guide you through the process before starting care.
Can Children See a Chiropractor?
Certainly! Infants may experience stress or trauma during birth, and as children grow, physical and environmental factors can impact their posture, nervous system, and overall development. These early challenges can influence their health well into the future.
Chiropractic care offers safe, gentle adjustments designed to support proper posture and optimal neurological function, helping children grow, develop, and thrive — creating a healthier, happier future for the next generation.

Can I Receive Chiropractic Care When Pregnant?

The Webster Chiropractic Technique is a specialised approach designed specifically for mothers-to-be. It is safe throughout all trimesters of pregnancy and during postpartum care. This gentle, specific technique can help ease pregnancy discomfort, support a more comfortable labour, and promote better recovery after birth.
